History of Dental Implants
Titanium Implants By BioHorizons
In the year 1952, a Swedish scientist and orthopedic surgeon Dr Per-Ingvar Branemark, accidentally discovered implants. He found that the titanium metal had irreversibly bonded with the bone in an experiment. He termed this process of bone fusion with metal as osseointegration. Titanium metal is used because it is lightweight, strong and is biocompatible ( meaning accepted by the body ). Due to this important scientific discovery today millions of people have improved their lives, by renewing their self-confidence and peace of mind.
