Unlike bridges, with implants the missing teeth are replaced without disturbing the healthy teeth next to it and bone loss is eliminated. Once a thorough evaluation has been done, the implant surgical procedure is done. Similar to single tooth replacement, multiple implants ( depending on the case ) are placed. Several abutments are attached to the implants. During the healing period ( normally between 3 - 6 months ), these temporary abutments will hold a temporary bridge to facilitate daily routine. Once healing is complete, a custom made bridge is then attached onto the abutments.
